Become a First Planter
A "First Planter" is a friend of The Growing Connection who makes a tax-deductible contribution to the project of $500 or more. Contributions can be made through the United States Committee for FAO or the American Horticultural Society, see addresses below. Your contribution will be used for:
- Project Site Development in Ghana and the USA - installations at schools, community gardens and project research/education centers.
- Local Adaptability Trials, to ensure sustainability in rural Africa.
- Teachers' Training and Exchanges, for lesson development and to facilitate communications in America and Ghana.
- Establish two-way connectivity for "first-wave" villages
in Ghana, using rural radio stations and wireless telephony.
Help Technologically
The Growing Connection is run completely on free and open source software
in an effort to encourage collaboration and ease of use. We are
always looking for ways to improve upon the tools and information we're
able to make available to or users and members. If you're interested
