Become a First Planter
A "First Planter" is a friend of The Growing Connection who makes a tax-deductible contribution to the project of $500 or more. Contributions can be made through the United States Committee for FAO or the American Horticultural Society, see addresses below. Your contribution will be used for:
- Project Site Development in Ghana and the USA - installations at schools, community gardens and project research/education centers.
- Local Adaptability Trials, to ensure sustainability in rural Africa.
- Teachers' Training and Exchanges, for lesson development and to facilitate communications in America and Ghana.
- Establish two-way connectivity
for "first-wave" villages
in Ghana, using rural radio stations and wireless telephony.

The Growing Connection is an Open Source
Development Project. It is our goal to provide access
to free technology and information to people around the world in order
to enable them to make informed decisions and to help them connect
with pther participants in the project and provide people with resources
from weather and horticultural information to access to opportunity
and fresh vegetables. If
