Curse of the dreaded Blossom End Rot

If it's not the critters it's the physiological disorders that will get ya :( Blossom End Rot has taken over a few of my tomato plants and a couple of my pepper plants. As of right now it hasn't touched my eggplants. BER is a disorder resulting from calcium deficiency. Adding lime or dolomite to the medium helps with BER. For all of the tomato boxes 2 cups of dolomite was added to eliminate this problem. BER can also result from fluctuations in the watering. Maybe all of the water we received in the past few weeks has affected the plant :( All we can do is keep going...

I just came back from my garden this morning and it seems like I too have a case of the Dreaded Blossom End Rot. It was rather convenient to see your post on this subject. Re: calcium - I've noticed that other gardeners put crushed egg shells around the base of their tomato plants, and some like to dig them into the ground a bit. I wonder how this would work in the EarthBox?
